Shopping
Enchanted Rock offers a delightful gift shop, but if you’re looking for even more shopping options you’ll want to hop over to Fredericksburg. This fun, German settled town offers wonderful eateries with authentic German food, as well as tons of shopping. This town is just a short 20-minute drive from Enchanted Rock and also offers a place to rest up after activity.
Hiking
Enchanted Rock is one of the best place to enjoy hiking. There are 11 miles of hiking trails available to you. In wet weather you will want to check out whether Summit Trail is open. All trails besides the Loop Trail close 30 minutes after sunset. Remember, you’re in the Texas Hill Country and there are rattlesnakes and bob cats around. Use common sense safety and follow all trail rules.
Rock Climbing
If you plan to rock climb at the park you’ll want to first check in at the park headquarters. While there you can pick up route maps and climbing rules. Be sure to read through everything, so your climbing experience is as safe and enjoyable as possible.
